BAVABI, Vietnam’s No. 1 brand in oyster processing, has affirmed its position since 2012 with a vision to create local specialties from Van Don, Quang Ninh’s marine resources. Founded by Ms. Pham Hien, a native of this coastal region, BAVABI aspires to deliver oyster-based products such as fresh oyster meat in vacuum-sealed packs, frozen oysters, dried oysters, oyster essence, oyster shell calcium powder, and pure oyster oil. These products are not only safe and nutritious for daily meals but also valuable raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry.
Through relentless efforts, BAVABI has overcome numerous challenges, including removing the natural fishy smell of oysters using traditional Vietnamese spices and advancing processing technologies. In 2014, BAVABI was officially established, proudly bearing the name “Treasures of the Sea – BA-VA-BI.”
BAVABI is not only a leading oyster processing enterprise but also a trailblazer with remarkable achievements, including two 5-star OCOP-certified products, recognition as a science and technology enterprise, membership in the World Oyster Association, and a factory meeting export standards with ISO 22000 and ISO 14000 quality management systems. Located in Van Don, BAVABI’s production facility boasts a capacity of 50 tons per day, ensuring the supply of high-quality oyster products to both domestic and international markets, including the EU, the US, and Asia.

Development Milestones
2012 - The inception of an idea
- The initial ideas for creating a "hometown specialty" with Van Don oysters began to take shape. This seafood species boasts high nutritional value, but processing it into nutritious food for daily meals presented numerous challenges.
2014 - BAVABI was established
- After numerous experiments to eliminate the fishy smell of oysters using traditional Vietnamese spices and research on processing technology, the project "Research on the technological process of processing Pacific oysters into dried oysters, seasoned oysters, and oyster spring rolls in Quang Ninh" was successful. The name BAVABI - Sea Treasure was born.
2016 - Achieved OCOP certification
- After many improvements, BAVABI's oyster floss product achieved 5-star OCOP certification, marking the recognition of the product's quality and prestige. This was also the period when BAVABI became a typical startup enterprise in Quang Ninh province.
2017-2019 - Expanded production and market
- BAVABI continuously expanded its production scale with a factory in Van Don, Quang Ninh and met export standards. Revenue grew steadily over the years, from 13 billion VND (2017) to 30 billion VND (2019), affirming its leading position in the oyster processing industry in Vietnam.
2020 - Sustainable development
- The company focused on the sustainable development of the oyster farming industry in Quang Ninh with a circular economic model, zero emissions, aiming to reduce net emissions to 0 by 2050.
2024 - BAVABI ecosystem
- BAVABI developed a variety of oyster products, from oyster floss, dried oysters, to high-tech applications such as oyster starch, nano calcium from oyster shells. The company continued to expand its international market, with products available in the EU, USA, and Asia.

Production capacity
BAVABI owns a large-scale oyster production and processing plant, ensuring to meet the market demand both domestically and internationally. The factory is built on an area of 8000 m², with a workshop scale of up to 3000 m².
1. Large-scale farming area: BAVABI manages 5 oyster farming areas covering over 400ha, strictly controlling natural conditions to ensure no pollution. All oyster seeds are provided and controlled by BAVABI, ensuring quality from the source.
2. Modern technology: BAVABI applies oyster floss processing technology and large-capacity sterilization technology, researched and cooperated with Japan, ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and food safety.
3. Large production capacity: BAVABI’s factory has an oyster production capacity of up to 50 tons/day and a finished product capacity of 60,000 jars/month, meeting the large market demand.
